About the Bejval Brewery The Bejval Brewery is located in Olešnice, South Bohemia, which is located on the border of the Novohradské Mountains and the Třeboň Basin. It was founded by a group of local enthusiasts who came up with the idea of restoring the brewing tradition in the village in 2021. After two years of preparations, the brewery was officially opened in December 2023. The name “Bejval” refers to the historic brewery that actually existed (“bejval”) in the grounds of the Olešnice fortress (later rebuilt into a Renaissance-style chateau) – from time immemorial until 1786, when it was closed and its building was adapted to the current church of St. Wenceslas.
