Brauhaus zum Schwanen
The “Schwanen” is located in the middle of the historic old town of Esslingen am Neckar. In the former nursing home in Denkendorf, which has existed since the 19th century, cosiness is still very important. For us, tradition is not a thing of the past; it is maintained every day. We always brew our natural beers fresh according to traditional recipes in Esslingen’s only home brewery. These are then stored to mature in peace so that they can later be enjoyed fresh for you. Of course, you also have the opportunity to visit our brewery by appointment.
There is space for up to 200 guests in various rooms. The historic vaulted cellar alone is worth a visit to our house.
In addition to Swabian cuisine, we also offer vegetarian, international and unusual dishes. A look at our menus or menu suggestions will quickly tell you how creative and individual our kitchen team works. Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
