Klosterbrauerei Scheyern
There are only a few monastery breweries, or more precisely, just a dozen, that are legally allowed to call themselves such. Of these, only seven are still operated and managed by the monasteries themselves. We are proud to have been offering monastery brewery specialties since 1119! Together with our master brewer, we present our beer specialties.
On the one hand, these are the traditional beers, brewed with Holledauer aroma hops. On the other hand, you can also discover the taste of our craft beers, which also feature new hop varieties such as Mandarina Bavaria or Polaris.
Our monastery beers are not sterilized or subjected to ultra-high temperatures, but are delivered fresh to the customer with the highest quality and short distribution channels. Customers can purchase the beer immediately after bottling, which is why the minimum shelf life is three to four months.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
