Dithmarscher Privatbrauerei

The history of Dithmarschen beer culture is older than our brewery. As early as 1775, beer was brewed in Marne. Since 1884, the brewery has been associated with the name of the Hintz family, who founded the Dithmarscher private brewery here and rebuilt the site in 1903. Here we sit and produce today.
Already in the fifth generation, we guard our recipes and cultivate our knowledge of the art of brewing. With our tradition and history always in mind, we know what we want to preserve: our down-to-earth character and the future of our independence.
On the coast of the North Sea, wind, waves and tides characterize the character. The harsh climate sharpens our sense for the essentials: always with both feet firmly on the ground. This also distinguishes our beer: honest, straightforward and straightforward.
We love nature for what it demands of us and even more for what it gives us. And that’s why every day we give our best to brew the best Dithmarscher ever. Of course, according to the German Purity Law and fresh from the coast.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
