We are a hub that delivers great experiences, quality goods and services. We are conveniently located in Lofthusbygde, right down by the fjord and are open all year round. Skjenkestova was established in 2005 and has been in continuous operation since then as a popular meeting place for Hardanger and visitors. The expedition wants to be a meeting place, a cultural arena, where we communicate cultural history and offer local products such as cider from Hardanger, apple juice, beer and local food. We focus on being a place that is open all year round. We want to offer quality throughout the line, and are an important player in maintaining a living village community. New for 2021: we get pizza boxes from Lofthus Samvirkelag in Oslo and have hired our own chef

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
