Turmbräu, Gästehaus - Hausbrauerei Turmbräu Melcher
Naturally cloudy and strong is how innkeeper and master brewer Stefan Melcher describes the hoppy beverage he has been brewing himself since 2008. This makes the inn, our family business, Villach’s first in-house brewery.
In 2018, the brewery was expanded and a new, modern, and cozy restaurant was built. We offer indoor seating for approximately 50 guests, and our spacious terrace seats approximately 60.
We also recently started offering Turmbräu beer in 0.5L – 0.33L bottles and cans. If you’d like to tap a beer at home, we can help with that too. We have 5L (party kegs), 30L, and 50L kegs available upon reservation. The tap is also available for rental.
Our brewery offers two standard beers: TURMBRÄU HELL & TURMBRÄU URMÄRZEN. Seasonally, we also offer different varieties such as Honey Beer, Light Beer, Turmbräu No. 45, Black Pearl, Schieflinger Steinzeitbier, and Bock Beer.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
