The Glenugie distillery (Invernettie) was located near Peterhead, at the mouth of the river Ugie. The first whisky was distilled at this location in the 1830s, in 1875 the site was also used as a brewery. The buildings have been demolished in 1982 and following years. The Ben Wyvis distillery was a producer of single malt Scotch whisky that operated between 1965 and 1977. When Ben Wyvis was dismantled in 1977, the stills were saved and eventually used by the Glengyle distillery.
