THE FINE ART OF DISTILLATION
Handicraft, the work of hands, is in demand again! Even though the distilling profession has become a modern profession in many companies, combined with the use of modern equipment, our old recipes and our knowledge are the basis of our work. That is the difference to a (food) industrial company – there is no substitute for people here. We’re still working the way we’ve always done it.
WHAT IT SAYS ON IT IS IN IT
Knowledge, competence and love for the product does not fall from the sky, it has to be learned and passed on. In our family business, there are therefore no recipe optimizations for cost reasons. Our liqueurs and distillates taste just as authentic as they used to.
EXCELLENT QUALITY: OUR WHISKEY
At the Inter-Whisky, Europe’s largest whiskey fair, the twelve-year-old whiskey “Neccarus” from our distillery was awarded “Germany’s Best Whiskey National 2013”. It also received the “Gold” award from the specialist magazines Whiskybotschafter and the Whiskey Guide 2014. In addition to the new, smoky “Terrador”, which is also available as a cask bottling, AltEnderle also offers innovative whiskey specialties such as green spelled whiskey , or as a new variety, a whiskey from the Urkorn Emmer.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
