The BUDDELSHIP BRAUEREI was founded in Hamburg in 2013 by Simon Siemsglüss.
From its founding until 2020, our entire range was produced on a 10hl system in our small but beautiful old former canned fish factory in Hamburg-Stellingen.
During the Corona crisis, we had some monumental challenges and everything was put to the test. We wanted to focus even more on the essentials to make even better beer, and what gave us the most joy and where we saw our greatest strengths were hoppy and bottom-fermented beers, as well as experimental, barrel-aged beers.
Since 2021, BUDDELSHIP has now only produced predominantly hoppy, bottom-fermented beers (lagers), while our barrel-aging is being further developed completely on our own new (very old) farm with brewery and distillery, under the name LOST HORIZON.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
