The new management ( Afshin Sadaghiani and Farhad Tabrizi ) is looking forward to welcoming guests to Essen’s only home brewery from October 1st, 2012. Here you quickly get the Tyrol feeling in the rustic interior with a chilled stone mug filled with bottom-fermented, naturally cloudy cellar beer or dark top-fermented wheat. If you want to tap yourself, we offer oak barrels with contents of:
on approx. 8 to 24 liters at the table.
Our menu not only offers typical brewery dishes such as grilled pork knuckle or crusted roast with sauerkraut and fried potatoes, but also salad platters with chicken breast strips or original Bavarian O’batzter as light cuisine. Our homemade bratwurst “approx. 30 cm long” is a delicacy with a very special taste.
The brewery in Essen-Rüttenscheid will delight you with its friendly and competent service as an individual guest or as a large group of up to 150 people.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
