The Belfast Distillery is transforming the Victorian jail of Belfast into a 480,000-litre distillery, construction of the site is expected to complete in 2016. The location is redesigned to boast also with a ‘state-of-the-art’ visitors’ centre and restaurant. The Belfast Distillery has signed a 125-year lease with the government for location, which is situated near the original location of McConnell’s original distillery that closed in the 1920s.
