Glenury Royal was founded in 1825. Distillery closed in 1985. The buildings of the malt whisky distillery were eventually turned into apartments. The remains of Glenury Royal were sold in 1993 to a real estate company who turned part of these buildings into apartments. Read more...
The Glenugie distillery (Invernettie) was located near Peterhead, at the mouth of the river Ugie. The first whisky was distilled at this location in the 1830s, in 1875 the site was also used as a brewery. The buildings have been demolished in 1982 and following years. The Macduff Distillery Company was founded in 1962. During its history, the distillery’s official name has fluctuated between Glen Deveron and MacDuff with official bottlings mostly having been released under the former.
