The Rosebank distillery was situated in Camelon on the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal which was known for its wild roses along its shores.The Rosebank Distillery closed in 1993. In 2009 copper equipment at the silent Rosebank distillery had been stolen. Plans for a new distillery have continued to develop for the new building being near the Laurieston site of the original Rosebank distillery. Diageo – owner of the Rosebank trademark continued to release limited bottles of original Rosebank whisky. So far they denied any wish to rebuild Rosebank Distillery.
