Cervezas Gaitanejo Artesanal
Gaitanejo Beers was born in the town of Ardales, Malaga. Its founders, Juan Duarte and Isidro Paz, began brewing beers in their garages a few years earlier, but it wasn’t until 2014 that they decided to take the leap into producing a beer for sale.
They began their journey as nomads, that is, producing Gaitanejo in external breweries. Their first beer was Caminito del Rey, which we will try later in the tasting you’re about to attend.
After several years of being nomadic, changing production facilities and seeing how limited their time was and how much time they needed, they found themselves in the position of either dedicating 100% of their time to the product or quitting. As you can see, they opted for the former, and in 2017, they set up their current brewery, leaving their previous jobs to make a living from this project.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
