The Bonaventure Brewing Company is downtown LA’s oldest true brewery.
Only at the BBC can you enjoy award-winning ales crafted by Head Brewer Blackwell surrounded by the city skyline.
His love of brewing propelled him to take a Craft Brewers Lab through the American Brewers Guild at Davis, CA. Shortly thereafter, he became Head Brewer at Kelly’s, keeping 20 brews on tap at all times.
His favorite styles of beer are ales. He says, “Hops are my friends.” Blackwell is happy to give guests a tour of the brewery. He’s not on the premises every day, so it’s best to make an appointment with him. If you have a favorite beer and would like to see it featured as one of our seasonal beers, please let us know.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
