“Drei Hart” means “Three Harts,” representing Gottfried, Anne, and their daughter Eleanor. It also honors Robert and Agnes Hart, Gottfried’s parents and mentors. Gottfried’s passion for winemaking began in childhood—legend has it that he once rehung picked grapes onto the vines, unknowingly shaping his future.

Since the 1990s, Gottfried has cultivated a vineyard in Three Oaks Township, driven by the belief that Michigan can produce dry, complex wines reminiscent of those from Germany and Austria. His expertise in vinifera and hybrid grapes ensures wines that thrive in Michigan’s climate while delivering exceptional quality.

At Dreihart Winery, you’ll find a unique selection of Michigan wines crafted with love and dedication by Gottfried. Our tasting room is now open at 6 Linden, Dreihart Winery. Come by and experience our wines for yourself!
