Slowboat Brewing
Slowboat Brewing Company is a small, brewer owned and family operated micro located in The Free State of Jones, downtown Laurel, MS. Slowboat’s main focus is small batch artisan styles, including Farmhouse, Wild, Belgian style, Barrel-aged, experimental ales, and an ever-evolving portfolio of popular American craft beer styles.
We operate our business on three basic principles:

Slowboat is deeply committed to refining our craft, while holding true to thousands of years of brewing history and tradition. Our objective is not to produce large quantities of beer for the masses. We strive produce beers of spectacular quality that we can be proud to call our own.
We can’t promise that you’ll love our beer. We understand that everyone has different tastes. What we can promise is that we LOVE our beer. And we hope our passion for brewing shines through in every glass.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
