The Portsmouth Brewery
Dear friends, On Saturday, June 17, a two-inch sprinkler pipe located in the apartment above our restaurant ruptured, instantly flooding the floors below. Nobody was hurt, but there resulted a huge mess and great deal of damage, which will take months to clean up and repair. While it’s too soon to say exactly when we will reopen, we’re already looking forward to serving you, our beloved community, as soon as we’re back on our feet. We’ll post updates here and on our social media sites as the work progresses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes. Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur.
