Established in 2013, Crooked Vine Vineyard & Winery was born from a passion for crafting wines that highlight the grapes and the region. Today, we continue that tradition—producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of Northern Michigan.
Under new ownership since 2021, Ted and Stephanie have elevated the experience, creating a welcoming space where wine, community, and connection come together. You’ll often find Stephanie behind the bar, ready to pour a glass or guide you through a tasting. Her love of food and wine brings our “bottle to table” philosophy to life, celebrating the joys of pairing and shared moments.
Ted, the vineyard’s resident farmer and winemaker, is dedicated to every aspect of the craft—from nurturing the vines to perfecting the winemaking process. His hands-on approach ensures that each bottle reflects the quality and care we put into every harvest.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
