We are the oldest brewpub in Texas, and have been proclaimed by numerous publications, as the “Best in Texas”. The biergarten in the back is perfect for private functions. Also available are 12 “bed and brew” rooms above the restaurant.
We are located in the heart of the historic, downtown shopping district in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas. To house our operations, we restored a great two story 1890s building to historical standards. The first floor of the building provides space for our dining area, our large air-conditioned biergarten, and a lager room with retail space.The second floor provides space for our unique “Bed & Brew” facilities. There are twelve rooms with baths, each decorated in a different theme. Reservations for rooms are taken through the Hangar Hotel at 830-997-9990, please specify that you are looking to book at “Bed & Brew” room.
We began our operation in 1994, within months of the passage of legislation allowing brewpub operation in the state of Texas. We found a public eagerly awaiting the enjoyment of our cold, freshly brewed beers along with our freshly prepared, flavorful foods. In our fair little town, sidewalk consumption is allowed, so that you can take our cold brews on your sidewalk stroll!

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
