This winery is only open two weekends a year and when I arrived to do a tasting, their parking lot was crammed full of cars. However it was not for the reason I expected. When I got inside to the chaotic tasting room, I discovered that they were closing down and were selling all their wines ($100 a case for some of them). They had a large selection of wine for the tasting (8) as well as some reserve wines at tables across from the bar (did not partake). The wines were on the dry side and a little strong for me. But it seems that they had a very faithful following as people were buying cases left and right.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia.
