Garnheath was built in 1965 within the Moffat distilling complex. It was closed after just 21 years when owners Inver House were hit badly grain-spirit overcapacity and they closed the Moffat plant, including the maltings. Lochside was located North of Montrose in the eastern Highlands. The Lochside distillery was rebuilt in 1957 from Deuchars’ Beer Brewery (dating back 1781.) as a malt and grain whisky distillery. The founder of Longmorn Distillery, John Duff also owned Glenlossie distillery.
