Thuisbrunner Elch-Bräu - Elch-Whisky
There has probably been an inn with a brewery, malt house, distillery and bakery at the site of today’s Gasthof Seitz since the end of the 16th century. In 1792, the chancery inspector Gottfried Köppel reported on the excellent beer that the Thuisbrunn brewer served during his inventory for the Prussian king. In 1852 Johann Wölfel took over the business. Under his direction, the heyday of the Thuisbrunner Wölfel Brewery began. At its peak, it supplied up to 38 pubs in the area and employed a large number of workers. After his death in 1904, ownership of the property changed several times. However, it was no longer possible to build on the successful years and the brewery operations were discontinued. In 2002, the Kugler family took over this historic property and reactivated the brewery tradition in 2007 with the Thuisbrunner Elch-Bräu.
The brains behind the Thiusbrunner Elch-Bräu is Geog Kugler. The master brewer, master maltster and beer somelier puts a lot of passion into creating high-quality Franconian beer specialties. His beers have received several awards at the “European Beer Star Award”. Below you will find further information about the individual types of beer.
