What began almost 15 years ago in grandma’s soup pot on a small scale grew in recent years to one of the most innovative and “craftiest” small breweries in Austria. LONCIUM, the old Celtic name of the district Mauthen, in the beautiful Carinthian Gail Valley, today stands for brewing art on the highest level. The manufactory around the founders Klaus Feistritzer and Alois Planner has concentrated from the beginning on not to produce 08/15 beers, but to breathe the barley juice the certain something. National and international award-winning specialties have been leaving the production site for years and sweetening their favorite drink for many beer lovers. Generously expanded in 2013, around 12 different types of beer are brewed by LONCIUM all year round, as well as seasonal specialties. The fact that we are always working on new, special recipes is just mentioned by the way. Guided tours, tastings and shower seminars round off the varied offer of this manufactory in Austria’s first Slow Food Travel Region.
