Beer has a long history in Rostock. Even in the Middle Ages, Rostock beer stood for quality and taste. The Hanseatic Brewery Rostock has emerged from this 750-year brewery tradition. On March 28, 1878, the engineers Georg Mahn and Friedrich Ohlerich announced that they had “bought over” the Julius Meyersche brewery. After a changeful company history – characterized by two world wars, the German-German division and the reunification – no other brewery is so closely connected with Rostock and its people. For the beer of the Hanseatic Brewery has been brewed for generations in Rostock for Rostock in the heart of the city.
The coastal beer is available in the varieties ROSTOCKER Pils, Export, Zwickel naturtrüb, Bock Hell and Bock Dunkel, supplemented by ROSTOCKER Dunkel for the gastronomy. The youngest ROSTOCKER is our naturally cloudy cyclist.
Completely independent and today as good as then is the mild-hopped M & O, the legendary beer of the company founder Mahn & Ohlerich.
