A Craft Microbrewery that creates a range of Ales with Nautical Names in the Birthplace of HMS Victory
The brewery closed in the summer of 2023 when beloved owner and head brewer, Piers MacDonald, passed away at the age of 56. The brewery had been on their site in the Historic Dockyard, Chatham, producing craft ale for 25 years. The reimagined Nelson Brewery was established in 2006. A traditional brewing process was used to provide beer in cask or keg and bottle or can. They supported many events locally and across the country and were always looking for ways to enhance their profile within the Dockyard and business community. Their ales could be found across the nation, whether it was through the national supply to JD Wetherspoon or from other microbreweries that they undertook beer swaps with.

Caroline Porsiel is a master distiller and liqueurist based in East Ellijay, Georgia. She founded House of Applejay, a fine spirits and liqueur distillery, in 2022 with her mother, Sabine, crafting award-winning products like Applejay from Ellijay, Mt. Frozen Knob Vodka, and Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. The distillery won a 2024 Best of Georgia Award and a 2025 Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Winter Cherry Mountain Liqueur. As a founding member of the AMBRU Campaign, launched in 2020, Porsiel advocates for the global recognition of American Brandy and Rum. She continues to drive innovation in the craft spirits industry from her active distillery in the heart of Georgia’s apple country.
