The ever popular micro-brewery, in the cellar of the Fox and Newt pub, is back up and running producing a range of Ales. It is now named The Burley Street Brewhouse but the brewery hasn’t changed much and it is still designed to produce traditional ales of high standards with wonderful flavour. The brewery was first installed by Whitbread in the 1980s and there are rumours that it is the last of its kind still operating, in Leeds City Centre.
We started brewing again in August 2010 after giving the brew-house an extensive renovation. Since then we have been able to create some fantastic recipes that are wowing our customers, both loyal and new. An increasing number of pubs are including our Ales in their offer, joining The Fox and Newt itself, The Ingram Arms in Hatfield near Doncaster and The Pack Horse on Woodhouse Lane. Since stocking Burley Street Brewhouse ales The Pack Horse has been named ‘Most Improved Pub’ by Leeds CAMRA. We like to think that this is no coincidence!
Our ambition is to provide quality beers that promote themselves.
